General Gameplay

Q: What do I need to play bingo?
A: You need one or more bingo cards and a dauber to mark the called numbers.

Q: How do I play?
A: A caller randomly announces letter-number combinations (eg "B12"). You mark the corresponding square on your card if you have it. The goal is to be the first to complete a specific pattern.

Q: What are the winning patterns?
A: The winning pattern is announced before the game starts. (see image to the right)

Q: What do I do when I win?
A: Shout "BINGO!" loudly and clearly enough to stop the game immediately. A floor attendant will come to your table to verify your card against the numbers called. Do not clear your card until the win is confirmed.

Q: Can two people win at the same time?
A: Yes, it is possible for multiple players to get a bingo simultaneously. In this case, the prize is split evenly among all the winners.

Q: Is there a winner on every game?
A: Yes, most bingo games are played until a winner is declared.

Q: Is bingo a game of skill or chance?A: Bingo is primarily a game of chance, as the numbers are drawn randomly. However, there is some minor skill involved in quickly and accurately marking your cards and scanning for patterns, especially when playing with multiple cards.

Rules and Etiquette

Q: What if I yell "Bingo" but don't have a valid win?
A: If you mistakenly call bingo, the attendant will let you know, and the game will resume.

Q: What if I miss calling "Bingo" on the last number?
A: It is the player's responsibility to yell "Bingo" before the next number is announced. If the caller begins to call the next number, your win may be invalid, and the game continues until the next winner calls out.

Q: Can I play with multiple cards?
A: Yes, playing with more cards increases your chances of winning. Just be sure you can manage marking all of them quickly and accurately as the numbers are called.

Q: Are children allowed to play?
A: Children over age 13 are able to play with a paying adult.

Q: What is the proper etiquette in a bingo hall?
A: Key etiquette rules include:

  • Keep noise to a minimum while numbers are being called to avoid distracting others.

  • Turn off or silence your cell phone.

  • Avoid asking the caller or other players to repeat a number.

  • Be ready with your supplies before the game begins.
